William Souligny has been a Douglas County resident since 1967 and a Town of Minden resident since 1968. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force, including 17 months in Vietnam. He has been married to Gail Mauk Souligny, a 4th generation Douglas County resident, for 47 years. They reside in Winhaven and have 2 daughters: Celeste,and Cheryl. Celeste is an RN, and Cheryl is an Upland, CA School District employee. They also have 4 granddaughters: Leah, who is a Junior at the University of Portland, and Daria, Olivia and Athena. Daria and Olivia attend Upland High School and are both accomplished musicians and AP students while Athena is a high Honor Roll student in the 4th grade.
William is retired from the State of Nevada after having worked 12 years in the casino industry and 28 years in state service. His background includes aviation, law enforcement, budgeting, and governmental accounting and training. He has worked for the Gaming Control Board, Department of Motor Vehicles and Public Safety, and Nevada Highway Patrol and Corrections. He was a Technical Reserve Deputy Sheriff with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and is a graduate of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office Senior Academy. He served as a Douglas County Volunteer Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician and is an Airline Transport Pilot having served with the Nevada Wing Civil Air Patrol.
The Soulignys enjoy camping in Nevada’s great outdoors, attending Minden Town events, and socializing with family and friends.
