Mimi relocated to the Carson Valley from Merced California in 1994, taking a professional land use planner position with Douglas County. Mimi enjoyed various planning and management level positions until 2007 when she was promoted to Community Development Director. As the Director, she was responsible for the departments of Building, Engineering, Planning, and Code Enforcement. Mimi held this position until her retirement in 2018. During her 24 years with Douglas County, Mimi was responsible for current and long-range planning activities, such as updates to the County’s Master Plan, amendments to the Development Code, revisions to the Design Manual, and the development application/review process. Mimi participated with Town staff in the early 2000’s to bring forward the first Minden Plan for Prosperity and the draft Town Design Manual. Mimi was raised on a farm with six siblings where everyone worked together to get the job done. Mimi has been married for 52 years to her husband David and has two grown children and four grandchildren.
